A Little Chanel Goes a Long Way – Part Deux

I’ve been a little bit of a Chanel make-up binge lately.  This is not good since Chanel is so damn expensive!!  Well, if I’m going to money hell, at least I’m going with some fabulous make-up on!  I have a new eyeliner, which is an HG product for me, the Regard Signe de Chanel – Harmonie Du Soir quad and a sold-out limited edition blush I was so excited to score on a blog sale!

The minute I saw this I knew I wanted it!  I thought the gold and the cranberry colour would be just up my alley, but I am actually finding the pink and the taupe very wearable.  I have never understood the allure of taupe, and didn’t get why folks go so ga-ga over it… but now, I am in taupe heaven.  I am absolutely in love with it.  I really do find all of these colours wearable, the pink will probably take some effort, but I know I can make it work. And they are as soft and buttery as people say.  My only caveat is that these need primer or a paintpot type base underneath to really make these colours pop on my skintone.  RUN and get this. At $65 it’s extremely pricey:( but I can see myself returning to this palette again and again and therefore I could justify the cost.

No primer – with my dark tone primer is highly recommended

Blush Horizon De Chanel
I purchased this blush off a blog sale.  I was excited to see it as I was still kicking myself for missing it when it was in store and online.  I thought it would be a little too pink, but I have come to realize that pink blush looks pretty good on my NW43 skin.  I hate to post about something that is not readily available, but you can find this if you go the evil-Bay route or a private blog sale. But remember, get some isopropyl alcohol and sanitize it before the first use!

Le Volume De Chanel Mascara and Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner
I received the Le Volume De Chanel mascara sample with my purchases and all I can say is FINALLY!  A Chanel mascara worth the money.  The others do absolutely nothing for me, besides make me feel like an idiot for spending $30 on a mascara.  But this I like.  Fat lashes… my favourite kind.  I’m going to finish this up and will probably buy a full size.  The eyeliner is my HG eyeliner that I have written about before.  I really like the eyeliner and this is my second one and there will be more.

Chanel Sable Emouvant Eyeshadow Duo

My favourite thing about these shades is how “work” appropriate and wearable they are.  I like how I can make totally different looks from day to evening with just these two shades. The brown colour has some shimmer to it, and thankfully, I experience no fall-out.  I have a similar brown colour from NYX but it has bigger shimmer particles, and leaves fall-out every where:( THIS is so much better.
I was a little apprehensive that the champagne colour was too light, but with the right amount of blending, it really compliments the overall look.

Oh no!  The SAKS SA at the Chanel counter called me earlier, they have a beauty event Wednesday-Friday with a make-up artist.  The last time I had a Chanel artist make me over turned out .. different. So, I think I will pass on that, but they do have a GWP with a $100 purchase.  My poor wallet… When I told her I would be travelling till Friday, she said she would keep something aside for  me if I tell her what I want.  Mind you, this is the counter manager after my “experience” with their counter, and if I do go in, this will be my first visit since that encounter.  I do have a few things that I want, but I’m in no rush to purchase them.  Damn SAs trying to make me spend money!

Now, what’s on my wish list?
Chanel Makeup Remover
Chanel Glossimer in Sweet Beige and Braize
Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara
And I am thinking about a blush too, but I don’t know which one.

Stay Blessed.

  1. I have to admit that I did not partake in the recent Chanel event at my local Saks counter this week. $100 on luxury make-up was not in my budget, especially with a trip to DC literally planned for the next few days. Sometimes, budgeting for beauty includes learning when to say no.
