Recent Beauty Pick-ups

I may not have been able to participate in the recent Sephora VIB sale as it wasn’t open to regular BIs (much to my disappointment), but I did partake in the recent 20% off sale from Ulta.  This the big, no restrictions one.  I wish Ulta carried a few more high-end brands like YSL, Givenchy and Dior, then I would never need to step into a Sephora!  Well, maybe not, I would be in the poor house if they did.  I also picked up a few items during the 20% off at Beauty.com sale as well.  All in all, I feel like I made out like a bandit.  Sigh, maybe next year I’ll spend enough at Sephora to make it to VIB… but in the interim I have the following drugstore products to keep me company!

At Ulta, I picked up some skincare staples such as my beloved Peter Thomas Roth 10% Glycolic Moisturizer, a mud masque for my pores, some pencils; and other items that I picked up as small stocking stuffer type gifts for my co-workers, mainly nail-polishes and the Tarte lipglosses.  I also picked up the Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment.  I used to be devoted to this years ago, I’m happy to return to it. Yes, it’s a little stinky, but the effects on my hair are pretty amazing so it’s worth it.  I noticed this one claims to have a lighter scent so perhaps the scent is now a non-issue?

From Beauty.com, I picked up the Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara and some L’Occitane hand lotions. I have never tried any Kevyn Aucoin items before so I am looking forward to trying this mascara.  I feel like mascara is always a good starting point since it doesn’t require any colour matching.  L’Occitane is a winter staple for me – I love the scent and the thickness of it. Unfortunately, my hands tend to get awfully dry and peel during the winter so this cream is a must.  I would have preferred to buy a full-size but those were sold out so I purchased the small ones for my purse and desk at work.

I almost forgot, I also had a pretty generous coupon for beauty products at Target!  I snagged Sonia Kashuk’s blender sponge, an ELF liquid eye-liner and a Curly Kinky hair leave-in treatment.  These are all products that are new to me so I am looking forward to trying them out.

I’m pretty happy with these pick-ups, especially since I got them for a good deal – I love 20% off!  It sure makes me feel like I am being responsible with my money.  I can’t wait to use it all and try some of the new item.

What have you picked up lately?  I hope you are partaking in all these recent discounts that have been available online and in stores.

Stay Blessed.
