Inventory – Foundation

Just wanted to say thanks to Liz for the great inspiration regarding inventory posts.

Today we have another inventory post.  So far I have inventoried my eye-shadows, blushes and mascaras, but this next category is one of my all time faves. Foundation – I love foundation!  I may not use it every day, but I appreciate the velvety smooth look that it provides when I do.  Below is a pic of my stash.

Dior, NARS, and Estee Lauder

Liquid Foundations

Foundation Swatches

Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Make-up in 6NW1 – one of my favourites.  Just a word of caution – shake well prior to using it.  It blends in perfectly and then poof, just disappears into skin. Seriously, it blends right in, and looks amazing.  This is “supposedly” EL’s version of the Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation, and it’s almost as perfect.

From L-R: Dior 063; NARS Macao, EL 6NW1, EL Intensity #5, EL Natural Tan

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay in Place #5 – this is one of the oldest foundations I’ve worn.  I love the colour match and the texture.  It’s very low-maintenance.  I can put it on and forget about for the est of the day.

NARS Sheer Glow in Macao – I love this foundation.  It doesn’t make my skin look dry and it really does make me look all dewy and glow-y.  I’m always wary of foundations that make the dry patches appear even dryer but no concerns with this.  I also like how NARS has such a broad range of shades.

Dior Nude Skin Finish 063 – PERFECTION! One of my favourites, makes my skin look so velvety smooth and satiny.  It’s very skin like, which I love, and blends in very well.  The shade range is very extensive, I wear the 063 during the summer- highly recommended.

Cream-to-Powder Foundation
Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme Compact in Natural Tan –  I prefer to use cream-to-powder foundations in the winter, they make me look dewy and lovely, rather than dry and scaly.  I love this as there is no migrating to my “dry” patches.  I’ve hit pan and will probably finish this within the next few months, and will repurchase next winter.

Estee Lauder in Natural Tan & have hit pan!

Dior Nude Skin Finish Gelee – Even though the finish of this is dewy and pretty amazing… the colour range – not so much.  The darker shades jump from 050 to 070, totally skipping the 060 range.  I bought the 070 but it was way too dark and I don’t really have anything suitable to mix it with to tone down the colour and still maintain the same amazing finish. I returned it, but I am desperately hoping and praying that they introduce the shade 060 soon.  The following pic shows the difference in shades between the EL and the Dior.

Estee Lauder Natural Tan and Dior Skin Finish 070

On my foundation wishlist is the Perfection Lumiere in #94, and the Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation in #10.  I ran out of the Chanel a while back and I’m trying really hard to finish something else before I re-purchase.

You may wonder why I have so many foundations from Estee Lauder?  I grew up in Africa, and for the longest time, the only brand that had GOOD foundations for women of colour was Estee Lauder. Honestly, I think this is where my love for the brand started, and I’m rarely disappointed.

What about you?  What does your foundation stash look like.  What are your holy grails, what can’t you wait to try??

Thanks for stopping by.  Stay Blessed.
