FACE of the Week

I’ve watched some videos on YouTube regarding the Face of the Week phenomenon and I really like it.  Most of them are in relation to “shopping your stash” and using up your products which is an idea I aspire to. I like the idea of using what I have, instead of the constant accumulation encouraged by the blogging community.

I try to keep my make-up fairly neutral when I go to work.  I used to play it up with loads of colour and such but decided to tone it down when I stopped my addiction to wild tutorials on YouTube!

Lips:
If I’m rocking a nude lip, then the eyes may be just a little bit more bold.  I find the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine #9 is a good nude for me without giving me the dreaded fish lip/ashy syndrome.  And I always use a good liner just to give my lips some definition – MAC Cork.  And then I top the lips with a clear Bobbi Brown lipgloss in Crystal.

Eyes:
I usually have two mascaras open at the same time, I am currently using the CHANEL Le Volume and Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara.  I also happen to have a small sample of the Benefits They’re Real mascara – I love the brush, it’s excellent for definition and de-clumping.  I’m using the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk is my base and the Estee Lauder Violet Underground eyeshadow quint – the burgundy shade.

Foundation:
My current foundation is the CHANEL Perfection Lumiere in #94.  It’s just a matter of time before I will probably purchase the #114… it just depends on how much sun I get this summer.  My concealer is my trusted Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer in Deep… I can’t live without it!

Cheeks:
For Blush I have the NYX Rose Garden – its’ so universally flattering, please check it out and surprise yourself.  I also have the Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee in Shimmering Sands – this is hands down my favourite highlighter.  The rose gold colour just leaves the right amount of glow.

So here is everything all placed in my LV cosmetic purse in red Epi Leather.  The items next to the bag stay in the house and don’t travel in my purse.  I touch up during the day, but not my foundation nor blush.

What about you?  What products are you using this week?  Are you rotating products around just to try something different or will you be sticking with the tried and true?  For me, I think my weekly roundup is a good reflection of the brands I use the most – CHANEL, MAC, NYX and Estee Lauder.

Thanks for stopping by and stay blessed!

  1. I’m still a novice when it comes to makeup. I tend to focus on my lips and I use the Bare Minerals warm deep foundation. My everyday lipsticks are usually from Chanel. I’ve been on the hunt for a nice bright coral/orange lipstick for the summer.
That LV Epi cosmetic case is lovely. I didn’t realize it could hold that much.

    1. You can really stuff a lot into the cosmetic case, that is until the zip starts to look too wonky and it forces you to take something out. I’m addicted to Chanel Lip products too; and although I love a coral gloss, I have never tried a coral lipstick.
