Unfortunately, I’ve been in the doldrums lately. I’ve tried so hard to shake it, but it’s been tougher than normal. I’ve tried my usual tricks: concentrating on my daughter, re-organizing my make-up and closet, working on my photography, working on the new house and taking dance classes.
I’m not too sure what’s ailing me, whether its work or professional. lol. That’s not what I meant to write at all. But it’s extremely telling isn’t it?

I’ve turned my focus on to the blog and instagram. But not too much. It’s best not to focus on the instant gratification of instagram, it disappears just as fast as you get it – can you say “unfollow” someone.
So to help lift me out of the doldrums, I’ve been repeating the following saying to myself:
Whether you think you can, or think you cannot, you are right.
I ran a half marathon six weeks ago. I really started to struggle at mile 10 (what was I thinking!!), but that quote kept running through my head. I think I can.
That quote, and my boss yelling at me to keep going, was all the motivation that I needed. Yep, I ran with my boss, and I’m ever so grateful for it because she figuratively carried me over the finish line.
That leads me to the next thing – gratitude. I’m grateful. I am grateful and filled with gratitude. Sometimes, just trying to get those words out is difficult. I have to really keep it in my mind that I have a great life.
Because I do.
I participate in activities I enjoy.
My work is interesting.
My family is the best thing ever.
I have a beautiful new home and my renters pay on time.
True, these things that give me great joy sometimes give me great pain, but I am grateful for these things. Every day. I focus on this. I must. I thank God for these things every day. This spirit of gratitude will carry me over the finish line.
I must keep moving at all times. To be still is to die. Remember this.
What about you? What inspires you to keep moving? Stay grateful.
Thanks for stopping by. Stay blessed.
