I’ve been trying to keep the beauty purchases to a minimum while I concentrate on the Project Make a Dent that I’m working on. But let’s cut to the chase and just say I have not been successful. I chose items that I love so I thought it was going to be easier…. The minute I identified the items, I pretty much lost interest in them- except for my Chanel Les Beiges powder. If you want to read more about the Project Make-A-Dent tag, please read here and here.
Here’s my list of products, the above photo is where I stood in July:
Chanel Les Beiges #60 Powder
Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick in #70
Estee Lauder Highlighter in Shimmering Sands
Lorac Pro Palette
MAC Cork Lipliner
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Macao
Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup Foundation
Nars Liberte Blush
NYX Desert Rose Blush
I feel like I’ve made real progress with the Guerlain Rouge G lippie in #70. I don’t know why I’m in such a rush to charge through such an expensive lippie, but it has been really fun, and super-moisturizing to use! It’s a great nude and looks great on; I highly recommend these lippies.
MAC Cork lipliner – I go through these all the time and use it daily. This is really my cheat item because it’s a given I’m going to use it up, its practically the only lipliner I use. I think, with sharpening, this will probably last another month or less and I will soon purchase a replacement.
Lorac Pro Palette – holy grail material, so many options! Happy to keep using this one, but somehow no longer as exciting. I have a nice little groove in a few of the colours – mainly Sable, Garnet and Espresso. I think there is a real possibility I could hit pan on at least two colours in this item. I’m thinking of getting the Lorac Pro Mega Palette but it’s continuously sold out.
I’m pretty pleased with the dent in this Chanel Les Beiges #60 powder. I tend to reach for it over my luxurious La Mer the Powder since this is handbag friendly. I actually think that I could make my way through this whole product, but it will take a while as I tend to not use powder products during dry winter months. I’m planning on purchasing a #50 as it’s lighter and I tend to get more pale in the winter – although I’m pretty sure that will barely get used.
Nars Sheer Glow in Macao – this shade isn’t quite right for me during the summer so it’s been challenging to try to work through this one. It’s also hard to measure my progress as I cannot see into the bottle, but I swear the bottle does feel lighter. I will be putting it away for the next few weeks to focus on the Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Make-up which is a better shade for my skin right now. I was hoping to have finished either one of them by the time I wrote this post, but alas, both foundations are proving to be tough:( Plus I purchased the Dior Star foundation so that’s been a bit of a distraction. Please go check out that video!
I’ve barely touched either of the blushes. I’m surprised because I Iove the Nars Liberte so much but I swear, I haven’t looked at it once. Both just didn’t seemed right this summer. I have been using the NYX blush as an eyeshadow for a very simple day look.
My beloved Estee Lauder Highlighter is still chugging along. This is mainly the only highlighter that I use on a consistent manner. It is hard to photograph, but I swear that there is a little dent/groove happening there. Maybe I will use it more often now that the dregs of Fall are upon us and I will desperately need a glow.
So there you go, wish me luck over the next 3 months. I am committed to using these products for the year, I’m three months into it and it’s not going very well. I’m already planning my Sephora VIB sale wishlist for November so I will have even more items tempting me away soon.
All the same, let’s see if I make better progress this time around.
Thanks for stopping by and stay blessed. I really love it that you guys keep reading and commenting on my little blog. Thanks also for the views on my videos on YouTube!
