I had so much fun choosing my favorites of 2014. I usually stick to the same products month after month, but I think I went out and found some new gems last year!
The stand-outs to me were Guerlain, Lorac and Chanel. Whoever is at the helm at Guerlain has a genius way of coming up with grown women make-up. I know it’s pricey, but the quality of the product (and packaging) make them products that you will reach for over and over. The new Dior foundation was a total must-have for me, I hope you have had the chance to try it out.
I was disappointed with the news that Chanel was going to discontinue some of their darker foundations. But then I heard that it was because they were re-formulating them to deal with issues regarding oxidation – which would be a total win. I find that these shades are still readily available, so I’m not going to throw any more shade their way.
The Lorac Pro palette and the Milani Gel eyeshadows blew my mind last year. I reached for these 3 items almost every time I wanted to do an eyelook, I was that much in love with them. The Chanel Les Volumes mascara is a must-have holy grail for me and I’m still in love with it.
Like most people I have totally fallen in love with the Nars Audacious lipsticks. They are so creamy, so well-pigmented and they leave behind a fairly even stain. Also pricey at $32, but I will definitely be going back for more. I also used my Guerlain Rouge G lippie hard – its in my Project Make-A-Dent basket and honestly, it really has kept my lips well moisturized this surprisingly cold winter. I can’t say enough how much I have loved the NYX butterglosses.
For skincare, I’m so impressed with the Reviva Labs line, minimum ingredients and effective for my skin. The Chanel eye make-up remover has been a favorite for years. Pricey, but it usually last 6-8months, so worth the splurge. I love the smell of the Caudalie Grape Oil. My friends rave about the Caudalie range so I am planning on more purchasing more items from that brand soon.
That’s it for my 2014 skincare and beauty favorites. What did you love last year? What are you already lusting over in 2015? Thanks for stopping by and stay blessed.
