So, while I’ve been on my announced low-buy, I’ve been happily shopping for new products. I saw swatches of these all over instagram, and read some really good reviews. So like all professional make-up junkies, I felt the need to get my hands on some of the new Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick.
These were trickier to find than I anticipated; I had to stalk my local CVS and a Walgreens way on the other side of town to find the shades I wanted. I have to say that reviews of these as being moisturizing for matte lipsticks are spot on. I don’t get dry lip syndrome after I wear these. And they last for quite a few hours. I’m constantly eating and drinking water and find that I can get a good 3-4hours with a nice even stain.
Of the four I chose, only one had to go back, I found that the Moisture Matte Blissful gave me more a “crack-ho-lip” look. You know, the very wrong nude that makes me look like a life-less fish. But I’ve seen this on girls with a fairer skin tone and it looked very good, but not for me and my undertones.
I’m not a 100% sold on Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in Naked, but I have the perfect lipgloss to use as a topper and make it work. I feel like it gives my lips a very even look and it looks natural and almost like I’m not wearing anything at all.
I’m not really into Fuchsia lippies, but well, this Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in Orchid could work for spring. It’s very different for me, but I don’t want to be stuck in a rut so I’m happy to have tried this one. I’ve worn it out already and received quite a few compliments.
This has been the absolute stand-out for me. But you guys already know that I am a red-lipstick lover. This my typical go-to red shade. It’s extremely pigmented, so my only concern is that I definitely need a mirror when applying this. And I have noticed a little slippage here and there, but for all intents-and-purposes, I love this and highly recommend the whole line.
Hope you have had a chance to try these. You will not be disappointed. What new drugstore lippies have you tried lately? Thanks for stopping by.
