Oh my, I should have really tried this in store first before I bought it sight unseen.
But after I had such great success with the Guerlain Sun Celebration compact last year, I thought I would get lucky again. I love Guerlain products, they aren’t always Brown Girl friendly, but I when I find something that I like I buy it. The products are always outstanding.
I had a 20% off coupon from Saks, the ones that come unexpectedly via email and you have 2days to use them. They have a long list of exclusions, mainly all the things you want to buy from Saks, but they do work on beauty products so…. I thought the Guerlain compact was a bit overpriced, but the 20% made it palatable.
It looked slightly darker online, but I will admit to being nervous about the colour pay-off. So basically, it’s already gone back to Saks. It was way too light for me. And if I put too much on, it just made me look ashy. My foundation ranges are Chanel Perfection Lumiere in 94/104, MAC NW43/44, Dior foundation matches 50/60. I think if I was bit fairer this would have worked for me.
Someone mentioned on IG the disappointment that Guerlain is not always brown girl friendly. Honestly, I don’t have a problem with it. If something doesn’t work for me I don’t buy it, but companies have a right to produce what ever they want. Just as I have the right to choose NOT to buy any products that don’t work for me. I feel like the Guerlain Sun Celebration bronzer from 2014 was a much better fit for us darker ladies.
I believe this is still available at Nordstrom. It really is beautiful to look at, but I don’t buy make-up to look at. Or I should say I try not to.
Thanks so much for stopping by and stay blessed.
