June’s Beauty Budget

I think spent a bit more than anticipated last month, but all in all, a good beauty month budget wise. I know I need to start off with a set budget at the beginning of the month, but I’m low on the impulse control scale. I was going to start the month of July with a budget, but then I got a 20% off coupon to Saks.com that included beauty…and well…yeah.

FullSizeRender-6Neutrogena Make-up Removing Wipes ($5 on sale) – These are decent, better than most, but still, wipes.  I keep hoping to find the perfect wipe – one swipe makeup removal and no residue left behind.  Where are you perfect cleansing wipes – WHERE? Sorry, forgot to picture this one.

Nyx Buttergloss and other lippies (had coupon from Ulta for $3 off $10 plus it was bogo 50% so approx $10 for all four products)- I’ve been sleeping on the Intense Butterglosses!  Yes, so much colour and lasting power.

FullSizeRender-7
Covergirl eyeshadow in 305 $4– I love pink eyeshadows, pinks, purples and burgundies.  But this is going to be a glittery mess.  Can already see myself NOT using this.  And I think I love the Voluminous Manga mascara.  It’s pretty good and makes my lashes look long.

FullSizeRender-10Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheers and Nail Varnish ($64 on sale, down from $82 for both products.- I was doing really well in June till the 20% off sales occurred at Giorgio Armani and YSL.  I was able to resist both, until I got an email from GA saying the sale was extended one day.  So I took the plunge, 20% is 20% off.

Maybelline Fit Me Dewy and Smooth foundation ($6) I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I bought this mainly because it was so cheap. Not to sound like a foundation snob, but I’ve gotten so used to the era of $45 and more foundations. But so far I like it.

Kenra Thermal Protectant ($7) was on clearance and I had a 20% off coupon plus $3.50 off $10. I love those Ulta coupons.

Origins ($32) – had a visa gift card for $30 so this was practically free! This has already gone back to Sephora, review forthcoming.

Eyebrow threading ($12) – this is a must for me…

Total Spend – $140 – wow, I did good! Plus, since I had a gift card for $30 I feel like it was more $110.

I only have 2 months worth of data, but it seems to me like $150 is a reasonable goal for monthly beauty/skincare expenditures.  Will continue tracking and seeing how I do.  What about you, how much are you spending on your upkeep every month. Do you have low-impulse control when the sales come around?

Thanks for stopping by and stay blessed.

  1. Those coupons that come in the e-mails and in the mail can be so annoying and tempting that it’s hard to resist sometimes. You got very cool products. I like the Nyx butter gloss and the Maybelline foundation.

  2. I’ve been really good this month and haven’t bough too much apart from skincare/haircare/bodycare.

Intense butter glosses – I’m intrigued – I just have the regular one.

… Out of all the items you posted I really-really am interested in the Maybelline foundation. I find it so unfair that Maybelline doesn’t release such goodies in the UK until a year or so and then when they do – it rarely ever comes in a foundation past ‘tan’ or ‘beige’ *collapses*. I really want to try the matte formulation :(.

I think $150 is not bad and having a budget means that you’ll think really hard about your next purchases. I live for discounts when I’m buying something – like you said money off is money off 🙂 and if you were going to buy it anyway that just makes it a sweet deal all the way round!
