The End of Project Make-A-Dent – Month 12

So… it’s a bit of an oxymoron.  My project make-a-dent was pretty much a disaster.  However, at the same time I am strangely motivated to do some other type of project use-it-up project.  The best and worst part was the heightened awareness of what products I was using.  And NOT using.  And how many products I simply lose through the course of a year. Here’s a link to my original post.

End of Project Make a Dent – 2015

Chanel Les Beiges Powder – this is the only product in this project that I have used continuously without fail.  I love it.  I keep it in my purse and use it almost daily.  Oh Chanel, I hate you for discontinuing my favourite colour in the Perfection Lumiere foundation, but this powder – LOVE.  I’m genuinely surprised that I have yet to hit pan on this one.

Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick – I went as far as I wanted to go with this one, then stopped charging through it.  Then placed it somewhere I cannot find.  I’m determined to locate it though.  And I already bought a replacement, which has yet to be touched.

MAC Cork Lipliner* – well, I finished the one originally purchased and replaced it.  And then I lost the replacement and started using a Nyx liner I bought when I was feeling too poor to by another MAC lipliner.  This was my cheat item, the one I knew I was guaranteed to finish, and I did. Will repurchase soon.  *missing in action.

Lorac Pro Palette – I definitely made some progress on this palette, but I was unfortunately, unable to actually hit pan on any of the colours. Grrrr.  I was hoping to hit pan on Garnet and Sable.  Also nice dents in Pewter and Espresso.

Estee Lauder Highlighter in Shimmering Sands – I hit pan. I hit pan. I hit pan… insert happy dance here.  Even though I didn’t realize it when I started, I was close to hitting pan when I started on this journey so that was lucky.  Of course I haven’t touched it since I hit pan. Oh well.

Nars Liberte Blush – I should have never chosen so many powder products.  I love this blush, I look gorgeous using this product.  I still use it here and there, but it so difficult to show progress.  . You definitely get a lot of product in this one.

NYX Desert Rose Blush –  I am really in love with this blush, it’s a bit dark and can look clown-like if I’m not careful.  It’s another product I  lost interest in the minute I started this stupid project.  If it wasn’t for the chunk that fell out some months into it I would still be at square one.  I have to be honest, this blush might end up in the toss pile one of these days. I blame it on Liz because when I started by blush-whore journey, she highly recommended it.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Macao – So happy that I was able to finish this foundation, it’s probably only the 3rd foundation I have ever finished.  I would consider re-purchasing, but right now there are so many other products that I am interested in. For now I will very happily throw the empty bottle away.

Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup Foundation – I’ve been trying to use this diligently in the last month or so.  Which basically means roughly 2-3x a week.  It’s a pity I cannot see into the container, but I swear, it feels like it’s still 75% full which is so bloody sad. If I don’t use it up by the end of the year I’m going to consider tossing it as it is one of oldest in the collection.

All in all, I’m somewhat impressed with my progress. I made a goal and stuck with it, plus I managed to toss an empty foundation that was cluttering up my space. Thanks to Monika for starting this tag and always supporting my posts. Go check her out, she barrels through her products like a boss!

  1. Oh my God, I’m so proud that you actually use these product enough to make a dent lol. Do you wear makeup everyday? I do, and most of the time it’s very minimal. But, I wear makeup so much that when I don’t wear it I feel uncomfortable. I haven’t been able to make a dent on anything though..

    1. I used to wear make-up daily when I worked in an office. Half way through this project I started working from home so I only wear make-up maybe 3x a week. That’s part of why my progress was delayed, I wear a lot of lipstick but mainly just concealer and mascara – i go through those a lot. A project like this will help you focus on just a few products so you can make a dent!

You should always feel comfortable in your own skin my darling – you are gorgeous!

    1. lol… I believe you have been working on that for quite some time now. The longer you wait the harder it is as the items just pile in! Can’t wait to read it, I know the skincare product reviews will be good!
