I fell for the hype. I really did. I knew in my heart I should have bought a sample size first to try this out, but I had a gift card and sprung for the full-size. of the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Mist
Actually, this product, the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, is not that bad. I love the feel of it on my skin, it feels refreshing to spray it on. BUT, If I had known that all I was buying was a feeling, I would have thought twice. I guess I was expecting more of an effect from the Squalane, Okinawa Red Algae and Tatcha’s anti-aging HASADEI-3 Bioactive Complex since, I have used this almost daily for the few weeks I’ve had it. Will it be nice to spray on during the summer months – yes. Will I look any younger – No. Can I get the same effect from something cheaper – yes.
If you are looking for a top-notch product with Squalane then I suggest you look into the SK-II line. I’ve noticed more of an effect from adding their facial essences to my skincare routine than this one. But maybe it’s not a matter of product but of delivery. Maybe instead of spraying this on my face and probably wasting more than half the product, I should spray into my hands and apply by patting it into my skin. That’s how I apply the SK-II products. hmmm.
Will try that. But I am a bit disappointed. I like may products in the Tatcha line, but I am seeing more misses than hits. The products they first came out with, the ones they built the brand around – the Carnelia Cleansing Oil and the Rice Enzyme Exfoliating Powder I absolutely LOVE and highly recommend. The rest of the products seem gimmicky and high priced to me. This one has every known extract to man in the ingredient list but it just left me wanting more. I’m sorry, but if you cost over $30 then I expect there to be an effect? Or am I missing something. There has to be more to a product than an exotic story-line and fancy packaging (which I love BTW).
I will say this though, I was very tempted by the Chanel Micro Mist (US$90) but thought the price point was ridiculous, and this Tatcha product has kinda reinforced that opinion for me. With the Tatcha, I paid more for a product that I already own similar less expensive options, and I feel cheated for it. I don’t feel its any better than the suggestions in the next paragraph so I will not spsring for the even more expensive Chanel product. Sometimes paying more is just that, paying more.
So… would I recommend this. If you have the coin, don’t have anything similar and love this product line then yes, get it. If you want it for the Squalane then try SK-II. If you just want a cool mister spray then get the Caudalie Grape Water or even the Maria Badescu Aloe Herbs and Rosewater Mist.
Hope you found this helpful. Stay blessed.
