oh August, how terrible you have been for my pocket and my beauty budget.
But you know what its like when you don’t buy anything for a while. It usually leads up to a binge… or is that just me? I noticed I went off the deep end a bit, so I thought it was a good time to return to writing up how much I spent in beauty on a monthly basis. A beauty budget to keep me accountable.
Well so far I’ve picked up a ton of skincare – check out my Estee Lauder haul here. (roughly $99 spent, including the Tom Ford highlighter). Plus I have also picked up some make up – like the Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo in Moonlight. Review coming soon.
I picked up the Morphe 350 palettes in matte and shimmer finishes from the HauteLook website, but those haven’t arrived yet and I’m getting impatient! I don’t purchase from there often, but it’s always a steal when I do! EDIT – one arrived. well packaged. but no packing slip. The only clue of where it came from was the shipping label. NOT impressed HauteLook. 2nd EDIT- contacted customer service, 2nd palette has arrived! $38 including shipping
Next I purchased the Lorac Pro Contour Palette – I found a $10 off $40 coupon for Ulta platinum level members. I was debating between this one and the ABH palette, but you know $10 off is $10 off. $36 total including some little knick knacks at Ulta.
And last but not least, this one little cutie, the Elf Blush quad in Dark. Let me tell you, this little bugger is pigmented. I used it once and totally freaked out coz I went totally ham on it. heish. Lesson learned. $7 at Target.
I also placed an order with Neiman Marcus and will tape another “high-end” haul soon, see my previous high-end haul video here. This new one will include Chanel, Tata Harper and Guerlain. I was lucky enough to have a huge coupon on ebates, $50 off a $250 beauty purchase and an additional 12% cash back offer. The sad thing was that it wasn’t a lot products but with the rebate, it made it hard to pass up. Plus where else am I going to find Chanel at 20% off? so roughly $270 but I earned up to $80 in rebates so I’m ok with it. Use my link to get an invite to ebates.
So there, I added it up in my head and there’s a bit of throw up in my mouth. ouch. There won’t be much make-up shopping during September. But we always find a way to justify these things don’t we?
How much did you spend on beauty and skincare in August. I hope you are doing better than I am.
