Are you curious about Glycolic Acid toners? Those chemical exfoliants that will leave your skin tingly and glowing. If you haven’t already, get one. But just in case you are wondering which one to get, then read on for my view on these amazing additions to your routine. Hope you enjoy my thoughts on the Battle of the Glycolic Acid Toners – Reviva Labs vs. Pixi Glow Tonic.
Both of these products are readily available online – amazon.com; and at retail location such as Target and local farmer’s market stores such as Sprouts. Both items are paraben free and not tested on animals! Glycolic acid is part of the family of chemical xfoliatns such lactic acid, kojic and malic acid. they typically sting a little bit as they exfoliate the top layers of your skin. Teh stronger the percentage of the acid, the more exfoliation will occur. I use a combination of physical and chemical exfoliants in my arsenal. Here’s a brief rundown on each.
Reviva Labs Glycolic Acid Facial Toner – approximately $11 for 4oz.
Main ingredients include Water, Glycolic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera. Unfortunately, the strength of the acid is not listed on the bottle or the website, however when you use this product for the first time there might be a mild sting to it. I’ve written about this amazing products before, check here.
Pixi Skin Treats Glow Tonic 5% Exfoliating Toner- $15 for 3.4oz.
Main ingredients include Water, Aloe Leaf Juice, Witch Hazel, Horse Chestnut extract, Glycolic Acid and Butylene Glycol. One of the most hyped about products on YouTube and the blogosphere. I got mine with a $5 off beauty product coupon from Target. And I have to be honest, that was a huge deciding factor in the purchase. When you already have a holy grail status it’s hard for me to try something new.
Let’s be honest. I’m a huge fan of the Reviva Labs product. This is holy grail status in my skincare routine and I have bought so many of these I have lost count. I use this to keep my skin clear and using it on a zit. Put some on a cotton pad, hold against your skin for a minute or so and the next day… boom, no zit.
While I have liked using the Pixi glow product, I won’t repurchase it. It costs more and is less effective than my holy grail Reviva Labs product.I’m going to use it up and then go back to my beloved. And just remember, if you are using chemical exfoliants you have to use sunscreen religiously!
