Hi, Happy Holidays and welcome to 2017. I hope last year was good for you. 2016 was a great year for beauty products, I was happy to purchase and use many new items, but also to stick with old favourites. I didn’t buy as much as I usually do, but I did venture out of my comfort zone and tried new items. This one is going to be less wordy and more pic heavy, but I like doing this kind of round-up to see what I’ve loved this year, see my previous posts here, here and here, Without further ado, here are my top 16 best beauty products of 2016.
In no particular order:-
1. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation in 121 – game changer for me! Instant HG status, I love a foundation that makes me look flawless.
La Mer the Powder (old formula) – still upset that they reformulated and almost doubled the price while reducing the size. Really La Mer? But this tub is so huge, I’m not desperate yet.
Burberry Eye Palette in SPice eye shadow – this is my go to now for business travel where I want to look professional by day and maybe a subtle smokey eye by night.
Burberry Kisses Lipstick – this formula feels so absolutely lovely and moisturizing on my lips.
Christian Louboutin the matte ones – never say never to a $90 lipstick… you might just fall in love.
Guerlain L’Or Primer – I still haven’t figured out what it is that I love about the primer, but it just works for me!
Dioriffic Matt Lipstick – Holiday 2016 – had no choice but to pick one limited edition item, but it is still available at Sephora.com
Tom Ford Eye Colour Duo in Green Jade – green eyeshadow is severely under-rated.
Lorac Pro Contour – I went back and forth between this and the Guerlain terracota bronzer, but I feel like this one is more versatile with the yellow powder and the medium contour could be used as a face powder in a pinch.
CoverFX Total Cover Cream Foundation in N90- this is another oldie that made it on to the list simply because it’s cold and I like a “heavier” foundation during the winter months.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner – you know, I am not a fan of liquid eyeliners, but this one is easy and no fuss.
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Sheer illuminating Fluid – I love a rosy highlighter and this one just works for me. Subtle enough to not make me look like a glitter bomb. Some of us do have to stay professional looking.
Chanel Les Volumes Mascara – HG status, I couldn’t tell you how often I have repurchased!
TooFaced Glitter Glue Shadow Primer – review coming in the near future.
Becca Luminous Blush in SnapDragon – just ignore that broken palette and try to focus on the blush in the bottom right. Best combo blush/highlighter.
Well thanks so much to every one for stopping by and checking out my beauty favourites. Would love to know what you have on your list for top 16 of 2016. I’m planning on trying another panning project this year to try to make it through some of my older products so I can move on more devotedly to these beauties.
Stay calm, stay zen, stay focused. I love you.
