DIY – when beauty DIY goes wrong

Some time back I did a little DIY Project by fixing my broken palette. I’m trying to use up my Chanel Les Beiges Powder in 50 for a project pan, but it had a huge hole in it, making it difficult to use. So I thought to do a little beauty DIY and fix the broken powder but boy, read on to see when beauty DIY goes wrong!

It started off well enough – I mean there was still a lot of product left in my powder.  First you crush the product.

Then you pour a lil bit of alcohol in it…. or it’s supposed to be a lil bit. Mine was more like 15mls and way too much! The first thing to go wrong.

Then you mix it up and re-press it a little bit.

Wait for it to dry some then press again with a tissue to absorb any excess alcohol.  Had to do this a few times since I poured too much alcohol(!)

Then let it dry overnight. Or over-dry and crack because I had used to much alcohol – mistakes, mistakes.

Whatever you do… do NOT drop it after it dries.  Just don’t okay. Murphy’s fricking law people!

Sigh, not sure how long I  will keep this product.  It still works just perfectly, but its no longer purse friendly and a bit messy.  Thank goodness I already have a back-up.  Sometimes our beauty DIY goes wrong but it’s good to remember that it’s just a beauty product.

Hope all is well with you readers, be sure to check out my youtube channel!
