What a mess. Its December, and this time of year, I do the same thing over and over. I overspend and overspend on beauty. The following is how I did this month, my monthly Beauty Spending for December. Lets say its been difficult- I really have to learn how to say no to a sale!! The last time I wrote a monthly beauty spending post I had an average monthly spend of $75. I bought a Pat McGrath eyeshadow lab kit so you know I am on the positive sad of the average.
So, lets begin. Pat McGrath had a 25% off VIP sale so I jumped at the chance to own my first mothership labs palette. Sigh, I like this a lot but damn Pat, why are they $125 when they are not on sale. Sigh, $94 for an eyeshadow palette, I have truly lost my mind.
Chanel Le Signe Du Lion Highlighter – $70 and I love it. But I hate to admit that I may have just purchased a beauty product mainly because I wanted the packaging. Shallow much?
Chanel Eyeshadow in Cuvre Lame $30 – I wasn’t planning on purchasing this beautiful bronze shadow! But after using the green one that I purchased in November, and seeing some gorgeous swatches on Youtube… well, I had to get it!
Giorgio Armani Silk Luminous Foundation in 11- $64– this has been on my wishlist for the last two years. But I’m trying to stick to my rule of finishing up foundations. Plus i bought the La Mer foundation earlier this year and couldn’t justify another high priced foundation this year. Glad i finally took the plunge!
But here is the good news… I paid $25 for the Chanel eyeshadow, AND the GA foundation. I cashed in my Bloomingdales rewards for $75 and seemed like a good way to spend them!
Chanel travel set and L’eau No. 5 Body Spray – $0- gifted to me by the amazing Deb from DreLuxTv. Actually, we did an amazing friendsmas Collaboration on YOUTUBE together so be sure to check her out.
Morphe 15S eyeshadow palette – $0 – this was gifted to me by another frined from YouTube friend. The lovely Lynnette from a Lady from Boston. That’s the beauty of YT- I really have made some really good friends. Well she sent me this palette as a thank you for our friendship. Thank you darling.
One last item is a Dior Diorshow Mascara – $29 but used Ulta points only $9 so that was a good deal for my last purchase of the month. January cant come soon enough. This is a new mascara for me, so look for a review in a month or so.
All in all December was pretty epic for picking up new beauty products that I wanted to bring back these monthly beauty spending posts. I am already loving the Pat McGrath Labs eyeshadow palette, but honestly, the price is out of my comfort zone. I don’t use eyeshadows enough to justify that kind of outlay on a regular basis.
Thanks for sticking with ahhhsoneo this year. I feel like I am getting my writing mojo back and we will have a fabulous new year with reviews, videos, giveaways etc. Happy 2019.
